Budapest panorama

Hello my beautiful people,

Merry Christmas and happy holidays. I hope you are all having a wonderful time with your families and loved ones. This post would be the last one for this year and I was wandering what to write about, but what is better than a festive city for the festive season. Christmas markets are becoming more popular every year, and everybody who visited Budapest knows that its market is one of the prettiest.

So if are looking for a place to celebrate Christmas or New Year’s eve, Budapest will be the perfect choice for you. It is a little bit cold but visiting all these beauties will make you forget about the chilly weather.

Buda Castle by night

Having arrived in Budapest, one of the most interesting buildings to see was the Buda Castle near the riverside. With its unique architecture, looking majestic and grandiose is beautiful by day and especially by night. It is a nice place to walk around and there are lots of things to see in the general area.

Matthias Church

Opposite the Matthias Church is located Fisherman’s Bastion, a characteristic terrace in Neo-Gothic and Neo-Romanesque style. From it, you get the most amazing and breathtaking view, a chance to see best panorama of the city in general, and also the parliament. Perfect spot for some nice photos of the city. Don’t miss it.

Heroes’ square
Skating ring next to Heroes’ square

Heroes’ square is one of the largest squares in Budapest, and a part of the UNESCO World heritage part. It is a square that combines history and art. You will see the statue of the seven tribe leaders, founders of the Hungarian nation.

Thermal water Budapest

Budapest is also know by its thermal baths, so there are many to be visited.

Budapest Parliament by night

Cruising Danube is pretty much worth it, providing you the opportunity to see both sides of Buda and Pest. View at night will be nicer when all the lights are on, especially the Parliament House.

Christmas Market Budapest
Hungarian chimney cakes

While visiting Christmas Market try some of their specialties. Did I mention the Christmas market had lots of sausages? Yup a lot. The most fun Hungarian treat were the chimney cakes which are pretty much similar to Czech trdelnik.

Ice Bar Penguin Budapest
Ice Bar Budapest

Don’t miss the Ice Bar. Fun place to visit if you have never been to an ice bar before, which I haven’t so I’ve not got anything to compare it to! It is a bar made of ice, it is cold inside, everything is frosty, and you drink from ice glasses and also they give you a penguin costume which was super fun :D.
