Hi guys… I’m back…
It’s been a while since I wrote my last post, and I’m so happy that I can share another great experience which this wonderful city was. Prague has been on my bucket list since like, forever, and even though this trip wasn’t planed, it happened unexpected…
How do I begin?
Prague is the capital and the largest city of the Czech Republic with the lowest unemployment rate in Europe. As one of the most visited cities of Europe, receives thousands of tourists every day, which can enjoy many monuments and architectural miracles that have long history. Prague Castle, Hradcany, St. Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, The Astronomical Clock and other surroundings will make you feel like you are living in other century.
According to the Guinness book of records, Prague castle is the largest ancient castle in the world. Dating from the 9th century, today is the official residence of the President of the Czech Republic. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Prague.
Hradcany, is the district the surround the Castle and gives you the best view of the city.
If you visit the castle you will see the Cathedral Church of St.Vitus. I think it’s the largest church I’ve seen. Wonderful design and beautiful vitrages. The pointy roof is visible from every point in Prague. St Vitus Cathedral took almost 600 years to build, and is a fine example of Gothic architecture.
Installed in 1410, The Astronomical Clock is the third oldest clock and the oldest one still operating. Every hour, hundreds of tourists from all over the world with cameras at the ready gather in front of the Old Town Hall to enjoy a fascinating mechanical performance which in the Middle Ages was considered one of the wonders of the world. The Prague Astronomical Clock, which for 600 years has been one of the greatest treasures of the city, still amazes people with its procession of Apostles, moving statues and visualization of time like no other instrument in the world.
Wherever you go, the best view you can get, is from the rooftop restaurants. I have some “thing” about these restaurants so they are a must in my trips. And here is how the Prague one looks like…
If you are a gourmet and looking for many places to eat in Prague you will enjoy the wide choice and want to come back over and over.
Before you leave Prague, don’ forget to try the famous Czech beer and to taste the incredibly delicious Trdelnik that can be found literally everywhere…
Happy traveling…
